Hello,

My name is Anees and I am from Leicester. Religious minorities fleeing the fighting in Central African Republic are living in refugee camps in the neighbouring Cameroon. These camps are based in the village of Borgo near the town of Meiganga. UNHCR also has a food distribution centre setup in the village.

In the next few days, one of my friends Mr. Hamid Aboubakar (pictured above with the children) will be travelling to this refugee camp with the support of a local charity based in Leicester. The picture that you see above is from a year ago. He is trying to raise money on his own to add to the efforts of the charity. The money will be used to provide food, clothing, setting up makeshift tents to provide education to these children, most of whom are orphans. More than anything else, the volunteers will be providing support to them after what they have been through.

Mr. Hamid informs me that they plan on buying new clothes for the children for Eid; but sadly only a few of them will have to be chosen due to insufficient funds. I appeal to you to donate whatever you can to help these children and put a smile on their faces. Thank you and God bless.
