Story

The devastation of losing Cameron is indescribable and has changed our lives forever. You can read Cameron's Story here

Setting up The Cameron Day Charitable Trust has given us a purpose and a positive focus as we seek to create a legacy for Cameron, honouring his values and continuing to share his infinite support and kindness.

Some of Cameron's most admirable characteristics were commitment, determination, hard work and resilience. He faced every challenge head on - from which the phrase "a Cam-do attitude" has been coined.

In the days following Cameron's funeral; feeling lost, empty and bereft, I noticed that the inaugural Lincoln City Half Marathon was scheduled for 18.09.22. Looking at Cameron's photo, with tears streaming down my cheeks, I silently declared to Cameron that I would take my inspiration from him and I committed to run this - fuelled by wanting to honour and show my respect for his strength, bravery and courage.

As a non-runner, this is an enormous challenge, but with Cameron deep in my heart and dominating my thoughts, I take comfort from doing something for him and take my strength to keep going from him. Cameron - you are my inspiration.

I am thrilled, honoured and grateful to my brother and sister in law (Tim & Bridget Marsh) for supporting me and running with me. Losing Cameron has had a profound impact on them and their family and their support throughout the last year has been beyond incredible.
