Story

Outer Hebrides For Independence

Hi everyone. Since 2014 there have been many Independence Marches all over Scotland and the Outer Hebrides, a jewel in Scotland's crown are organising our first ever March & Rally for Scottish Independence. The day is being planned as a family day with Live music, speakers and face painting. It is hard raising funds in island communities and that is where we need all your help to reach our target total. A lot of work goes into organising events like this and the Outer Hebrides For Independence Committee is working hard on trying to make sure that everyone has a day they will enjoy and remember for a long time to come. Our Island community is welcoming and friendly and we hope to encourage as many as possible to make the journey from all over the Mainland {Tīr Mòr in gaelic} and experience the beauty and tranquillity that we enjoy here. This is a perfect place for a March and Rally for Independence. We live in the heart of a part of Scotland where our native language of Gaelic is still very much alive as is our culture where Gaelic song, music, and our all important ancestry is still very much a part of our everyday lives. Our local history is equally important to us and the stories of how the clearances affected our lives still gets handed down the generations. That is all part of Scotland's rich history so we think it's a perfect place to march for Scotland's Independence. And we will happily welcome you all,

A Ceilidh is also being organised for the March night to welcome and thank all those who are making the effort to take part in the days events

Ceud mile taing {A hundred thousand thanks}
