I'll start this by introducing myself. My name is Catherine Greenaway and I am 16 years old. I live in Swansea and have all my life. I am fortunate enough to be able to speak the Welsh language fluently, and I am proud to be Welsh. I enjoy swimming, playing rugby, ballet and pointe. I love camping with family and I am not afraid to push my boundaries when it comes to the outdoors.

The opportunity has arrived for me to start something new. I not long ago entered to become a Miss Wales Finalist hoping that this would help me boost my confidence and low self-esteem. I was pleasantly surprised when i was invited for an interview in Cardiff...and then further astonished by receiving confirmation that I had been lucky enough to become a Miss Wales Finalist for 2018. This allows me to become a role model for young women and girls all over the world.

The Miss Wales competition is part of the Miss World brand and whoever wins gets to further compete in Miss World for their country. The Miss Wales competition works with the Miss World charity "Beauty With A Purpose" and has raised over £500,000 since 2004. The Miss World charity raises millions of pounds every year to help underprivileged children all around the world, and every penny raised by the Miss Wales competition goes towards underprivileged children in Wales. Being a Miss Wales Finalist gives me the platform to be able to raise money for this wonderful charity.

Unfortunately, so that I am able to continue this journey I need to be sponsored. Despite contacting multiple companies I have not been successful in securing this sponsorship.

Please help support me in raising the funds required so I can continue with this amazing and life changing journey. All of the money raised will be going towards the Miss Wales charity. As little or as much that you can give is very much appreciated and Welcome!

I believe that people can achieve anything they put their mind to, and that age and gender should not be a barrier to whatever you want to achieve.
