Story
Hi there, I am trying to raise funds to help cover the vet costs for my wee dog Lucy. She is the most beautiful friendly Jackapoo and she isnt even 2 yet, her birthday is next week. The picture shows the fractues and the dislocation in her left hind paw as she was the victim of a nasty attack by a Staffordshire Bull Terrier 12/06/23 in a public park in Bathgate near Edinburgh. My partner interveened immediately and also was badly bitten. The owner of the dog left the scene and there were no witnesses. Police have been informed but sadly there will be little they can do. Lucy is in Dick Vets in Edinburgh awaiting surgery to try and repair the damage, this cost is estimated at £5000 thus far. If it proves to be un repairable she will require amputation which will exceed - as an estimate £10,000. We have Lucy covered with insurance but this only covers up to £2000. Lucy is our only very much loved pet, she is a huge part in our lives and everyone who knows her loves her. Please help Thank you. I will upload more pictures as we go.

1 year agoHi everyone just a wee update on our Lucy. She is doing really well back to her old self again………well almost. She still has regular visits to Dick vets and our own vet. The infection she had is still ongoing and proving a bit of a bugger to fix. The last X-ray shows the bones are fusing together well albeit slowly and there may be a need to remove pins. Her next appointment is in September so we will see what happens then. I’d like to thank everyone for their support over the last few months it’s been amazing x THANK YOU 😊

1 year agoHi everyone. Update on Lucy, she is recovering well, she had the bandage taken off last week and is using her paw a bit more. Dick Vets next Tuesday to see what they recommend and see how the operation has healed internally. Lucy was back at our local vet for pain meds but now we have that all sorted and she is less grumpy and more like herself. We have yet again been reminded that it’s still a long road ahead of us, which will involve more vets visits, maybe physio of some sort and yeah more bills but hey one step at a time x Thank you x

1 year agoHi everyone just to let you know I have withdrawn the funds that you so kindly donated in support for Lucy. The amount received has been staggering and that is no word of a lie. I can not express my gratitude enough, I feel humbled. It’s still going to be a long road ahead there will be more X-rays on the 25th at the Dick Vets to see if the operation actually worked or not, but Lucy is starting to become her old self again and is desperate to go for a walk. She will need to wait for at least another week. The page will stay open just now x
