    Story

I am doing this as a crowd funder as I want to give a 50/50 split to these charities which I can't do on a standard just giving page. I would need to create a link between them but I don't want one charity to get more traffic than the other so I decided to do it this way instead!

    LIFE CARE EDINBURGH

This charity is close to my heart as it specialises in Dementia care and enriching the lives of the elderly. My Grandad suffers from vascular dementia after a stroke he had last year. My Grandad came back fighting against the odds but has this form of dementia on the back of the injuries his brain suffered during the stoke. Over 850,000 people in the UK suffer a form of dementia and these figures are set to rise to over 1million by 2025. Dementia is a difficult illness for the sufferer and the family and friends around them and what lifecare does gives them the excitement and time to enjoy themselves not as a sufferer but as a person!

    EDINBURGH CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL CHARITY

This charity believes a child should be a child before being a patient and I totally agree. For the children of Edinburgh and surrounding towns this is where many of the children needing treatment attend and they help create the best environment in the worst circumstances. The children who are staying in the hospital can have their parent stay thanks to money raised and the families who begin to suffer financially through having an ill child and not being able to work or the expenses of travelling to the hospital have been treated to vouchers and been given a christmas thanks to fundraising. We never know if it will be a child close to our hearts who will need the support of this charity but I think every child deserves to not feel like they are in hospital!
