I've raised £2500 to help Kirsty McCloskey and Marie Curie

Cameron and Sam are running the 2022 Edinburgh Marathon to fundraise for two important causes that hit close to home:
1. Raising money for Kirsty McCloskey
2. Raising money for Marie Curie
Cameron's younger sister Kirsty (22) was mid-way through her final year of studying Nursing at Dundee University when she started experiencing debilitating headaches and a range of other symptoms. After numerous investigations and worsening symptoms, a brain tumour was identified in 2020 on a CT scan. The following day, Kirsty received emergency, life-saving surgery to retract the tumour. However, the challenge that Kirsty is now faced with is that of constant rehabilitation; as she can no longer walk and struggles with the every-day tasks that we all take for granted. The money raised will go towards Kirsty's fund for intensive physiotherapy sessions that she will require if she is to have the chance to walk and live independently again. Kirsty's care currently costs £8000 per month, allowing her access to a neurological rehabilitation centre in Hull; where she receives the maximal benefit of this type of therapy. Kirsty aims to access this 6 times this year with your help!
In 2020 Sam's grandfather Bill Donnelly was diagnosed with malignant melanoma (skin cancer), and despite putting up a long fight, he passed away in July 2021; the week of Sam's final medical school exams. At the time of Bill passing, there was limited support at home for the family due to Covid-19 regulations. However, Marie Curie nurses provided the crucial support and care that was required- and contributed to Bill dying peacefully at home while surrounded by his loved ones. We would like to raise money to show support for this wonderful charity; in hope that it will continue to offer the same relief to others in need.
A massive thank you from both of us, any money donated will be greatly appreciated!
All the best and wish our knees luck,
Cameron & Sam
