Story

The Butterfly Trust is a Scottish based charity for people who have Cystic Fibrosis(CF). CF is a genetic disorder that affects a number of organs, the lungs and digestive system in particular. Over time the infections leave tissue damage in the lungs that can affect lung function. With the help of physiotherapy and medication the level of mucus in the lungs can be minimised along with the number of infections.
This thick mucus also prevents enzymes from reaching the intestines to aid digestion.

This is a charity I have held very close to my heart for a number of years as my cousin has CF and she is currently waiting for a lung transplant.Growing up with her has always given me a strong sense of perspective on what I am able to do and not take it for granted. Over the last few years I have also helped run an amateur football club, which every year needs financial support in order to continue over the summer.

With this all being said (and hopefully you are still reading) I plan on raising money for both causes and doing the event this March (7th). The event itself will involve me flipping a tractor tyre up Ben Bhraggie. Ben Bhraggie is a hill in Golspie, 10 miles from where the football club I help run plays. The Hill rises to an elevation of 1,302 ft above sea level and is set to be one of the toughest challenges I have done so far.

Each donation will be split 50/50 between The Butterfly Trust and Dornoch City Football club, which will result in:

1.Providing The Butterfly Trust with support and help to all people across Scotland who have CF.

2. Help pay for facilities and equipment for Dornoch City Football Club, ensuring a large group of local lads are able to participate in the upcoming summer league season.

I cannot thank you enough for taking your time in coming across my page, reading what I have to say and sponsoring, it truly means everything to me.

Thanks again and much love,

Cameron Hook
