Story

Hi Folks,

I've set up a group called the Big Amateur Telescope (aka the BAT) to allow fellow nerds to join forces in order to take pictures of space that professional observatories would be proud of. Everyone is working on the project for free. Its great. Problem is I can't fully participate in my own group because I'm lacking the astro camera I need to do the high resolution lucky imaging technique upon which the group is based and due to my cash flow situation (!) I can't buy the camera myself. If you would like to help me out I would be most grateful.

With the camera I will be able to take Big Bertha (my 10inch newt) out to darkest Dartmoor and make a video which will show nerds all over the world the power of lucky imaging and hopefully if enough BAT members shoot the same thing we can combine our data to give Hubble a run for its money!

UPDATE: The response has been so good that I am now able to afford a camera with the IMX571 mono sensor. I'm going for the ZWO ASI 2600MM-PRO USB 3.0 Mono. I ordered it today 17/08/21

I'm keeping the just giving page open just for folks who are willing to help me out buying buying some of the accessories... namely the filter wheel and filters. These are a bit more than I originally thought but I'm looking hard on the second hand market for a bargain!

THANK YOU EVERYONE. Mrs Biscuit and I were most amazed at the response!
