Story

We are wondering if you can help us, we are a group of students from Calday Grange on the Wirral in Merseyside and we are currently looking for sponsors for our robotics team.

On Monday 12th March we took part in the UK final of the Robocup junior competition and one of our teams placed first nationally. We now have a place to represent the UK and Ireland in the Robocup Junior International final, which takes place as part of the International Robocup competition in Montreal in Canada.

The competition is in June and it would be an amazing opportunity for us to attend both educationally and culturally. Unfortunately, the competition provides no funding for the trip and the cost is approximately £6000 to cover flights and accommodation, we need to do this by May 18th as that is the deadline for registration. Last year we won the national finals and had the place to attend the world championships in Japan, however we were unable to raise the funds required to go and we as a school would be extremely disappointed to miss out on this opportunity again .

This year we are hoping to get enough sponsorship to enable us to attend and represent our school and country.

If you want any information you can contact our teacher by email nicola.mounsey@calday.co.uk

Kind Regards
