Bury FC – The Trust is the charitable organisation connected to Bury Football Club. The charity was established to help use football and sport to benefit and improve the lives within the local communities around the club. The Trust runs a number of successful education programmes, alongside social inclusion projects and activities to raise health and fitness levels in the area through both football and multi-sport. The charity works with approximately 100,000 people each year helping to positively impact on the community including improving employment opportunities and improving the health and wellbeing of Bury and the surrounding areas.

Bury Disability FC was first established 10 years ago as a project run by Bury FC Community Trust under the banner 'Ability Counts'.
The project continues to go from strength to strength, however as we are part of the charity 'Bury FC - The Trust', we do not receive funding, which means that in order for our project to continue we have to continuously look for grants and different ways of raising money. As the costs of equipment, kit and training facilities continue to rise, it is becoming increasingly difficult to keep the project moving forward.

We would very much like to increase our participant levels, and be able to provide footballing opportunities to younger children with disabilities. We are very much a lifeline and a social outlet for a lot of young people with disabilities, mental health issues and addition social and emotional needs. We not only help promote sport, but also encourage people to be more sociable in order to create new friendship groups, and feel apart of a family, our family, the Bury FC family.
