I've raised £800 to Donate to 'Obulamu Outreach Ministries' and the 'Down's Syndrome Association'

As B-Secur continues to grow, we're thankful for the support we've had along the way. Now we want to extend the support we've had to other organisations, which is why we're proud to support a number of charities, both at home and further afield.
Firstly, we will be donating money to 'Obulamu Outreach Ministries'. Started by Zoe from Omagh and her husband, the organisation works in Kawempe slum in Uganda. The project we will be supporting is the 'The Women’s Empowerment Programme' which aims to educate and equip the parents in the slum to allow them to continue to care for their families. After a one week Business Management course, the mothers are assessed on their skills, provided with a small grant and given support in starting up their own business.
Secondly, we will be donating money to the 'Down's Syndrome Association'. The Down’s Syndrome Association is the only charity that supports people with Down’s syndrome from birth to older age. In NI they have hands on projects for young adults to ensure they have social outlets, such as a choir, dance troupe and clubs that are open to everyone. They run holidays for adults so they can build new friendships and try new activities. They also offer Makaton training, allowing children with communication difficulties the ability to interact with those around them. All monies raised in the Belfast marathon will go towards the running of all these projects.
All money raised from the marathon will be divided equally between the two charities.
