Story

The inaugural Six-Points Charity Cycling Challenge is proud to have raised €6440 for our two charities.

Six-Points is a tough, multi day cycle ride to the four compass extremities of the island of Mallorca (most northerly point, southerly, westerly and easterly) and the highest and lowest points (this is where the "six" points comes from). This is a 400 kilometre ride and encompasses over 7500 metres of climbing! Not for the fainthearted!

The second edition is on 18, 19 and 20 May 2018 and our chosen charity for 2018 is Asdica - http://www.asdica.com/

Asdica is about 20 years old and was founded as an association of people with disabilities to help each other. Typically this means people with autism, Down's syndrome, physical disabilities, etc. The State does not do a great deal to help the disabled and the families were having, as you can imagine, a tough time.

Whilst there are special schools, there is no support for them during their leisure time. There clearly was a distinct need to help the disabled children and their families and give them a break. It was also clear that the disabled children wanted to do things on their own or in their peer group rather than being taken out by family all of the time.

Six-Points plan to raise a total of over €12,000 for Asdica this year and they really need it!

My personal fund raising is just part of the whole program so please support me in this endeavour! THANKS!
