Story
Both mine and Rachel's families have recently been affected by cancer. My dad was diagnosed with Lung cancer and had to have a major operation to get part of his lung removed (he's now on the mend). Sadly, Rachel's stepdad George lost his battle with cancer only very recently. During this time we were able to witness first hand the amazing work and care given by staff at the Beatson in the most difficult of circumstances. On Saturday 7th September i will attempt to run the Glenmore 24 which is a continuous 24 hour 4.1 mile looped run in Aviemore starting at 12 lunchtime Saturday and finishing at 12 lunchtime on the Sunday. This will be the longest duration and hopefully the most distance i've ever ran since i started running a number of years ago. Quite simply this is my way of giving something back to the incredible staff at the Beatson and to show our support to anyone who has or is going through something similar. I should note that the money raised will go directly to the ward itself as we feel this would be better served. Thanks
