I've raised £4750 to support Bruern Abbey School. We are looking to improve and develop new facilities as well as aid our new Bursary Foundation.

Story

Hello there, for those of you that don‘t know us, our names are Jack Barrett and Edward Bingham. Ed is currently studying at Oxford University and Jack is working at a prep school for boys, with special needs aged 8-13, called Bruern Abbey. We met at prep school over 10 years ago and have been best mates ever since. We have set ourselves the challenge of climbing The National 3 Peaks Challeng in 24 hours. (Highest point in Scotland, England and Wales.) Whilst doing the challenge we hope to raise money for a charity called Amici Bruerni, which is The Bruern Abbey school charity.

Bruern Abbeys' main purpose is to prepare boys with learning difficulties, particularly dyslexia, dyspraxia , ADHD and Autism for Common Entrance and other entrance examinations back into mainstream independent senior schools. We believe that learning difficulties should not preclude academic success and what we offer is truly unique.

Amici Bruerni was established in 2010 as a registered charity (Charity No 1135207) with the objective of engaging in activities and providing facilities or equipment and to pursue such other ancillary educational activities and other associated activities for the benefit of the Bruern Abbey community. The trustees of the charity historically have been current parents of boys at Bruern Abbey.

Amici Bruerni works closely with the school in order to make impactful contributions across a range of areas. Amici Bruerni has founded The Bursary Foundation which has been established to offer boys whose families suffer unexpected financial difficulties the opportunity to continue with their education at Bruern Abbey. Any money donated will go towards this foundation and allow us to keep these boys in education.

Bruern is a second home for most of these boys, who have day to day struggles. Although they have thier own difficulties, they are some of the most brave and inspiring children that I have ever met. Any donations, big or small would mean the world. Please help us support these boys to furfill their potential.
