    Story

Our campaign is growing and the support so far has been incredible, thank you. We've received over £300 in donations up until now. This has paid for banners, posters and publicity, but it can't stop there. We must continue to raise awareness of this valuable green space and put pressure on Mendip Council to put people before profit, transforming the site into a community food growing area and wild garden for all.

No matter how much you can afford, every donation helps! £10 will pay for the printing of 200 leaflets, £25 enables us to print and deliver 500 posters, and £45 buys a banner which can be displayed along railings across the town. If we reach our target we can pay to distribute our leaflets direct to people's homes inside the Frome Times. Please support today and help us to get the message out across Frome, thank you!

We are campaigning to save the former allotment site at Broadway. This green space has been neglected for years. The land owned by Mendip District Council is now under threat of development. We want to establish a Community Garden and allotments for the benefit of the residents of Frome. The site is home to wildlife including protected species such as badgers and is a foraging area for bats. We want to protect and enhance the ecology as well as create a space for children to play and enjoy the benefits of sharing such a space with wildlife. We want to create a unique and special place for the community and future generations.

Our mission is to preserve and enhance biodiversity and create a green space for the community of Frome to grow, learn and enjoy. Broadway Allotments and Community Garden Association is a group of local people who have come together in the shared belief that green spaces are more important than ever. Broadway site being the last undeveloped green space in Frome and a bio-diverse piece of land warrants protection from development.

Keep on pushing! Frome has few enough green spaces in central & busy housing areas so let's keep up the fight. There are lots of great places where more homes can be built to welcome more new people.
