I am looking to raise a vital £1,000 to support girl's cricket at Shepherds Bush Cricket Club.

Those who know me well will know that I have been blighted by injuries over the years, but one sport that has never caused such problems (except a slightly inconvenient chlorine allergy) is swimming! As such I am delighted to be participating in a 5km Swimathon on Monday 22nd April. I'll be swimming 200 continuous laps of my local 25m pool, and I am hoping to complete the swim in under 2 hours - but we shall see when the time comes.

I am undertaking the Swimathon to try and raise £1,000 to support the amazing girls’ section at Shepherd's Bush Cricket Club. I am so thrilled to be involved in the thriving girls’ section at such an amazing community-focused club that provides a haven for so many. However, like many grassroots clubs, we suffer from a lack of funding. The girls’ section is in need of more funding on an ongoing basis to support their kit requirements, coaching requirements, opportunities for going into local schools to bring cricket to more girls, and to provide bursaries for those who otherwise might not be able to afford to play. I am looking to raise a £1,000 to support these needs.
