I've raised £1500 to honour the memory of Don Clements

In May 2020, My children lost their granddad and my wife her father. He was wonderful to not just them but to quite literally thousands of young people across West Sussex through his work with Scouts. Now in his memory his young grandson and myself are putting on our running shoes again to take part in our first ever marathon. I was due to do it in April 2020 but Covid 19 has meant it's been delayed to April 2021 - giving us the chance to add my son to the team sheet and to raise some money in his memory. The money is going to be split between Crawley District Scouts for their campsite - Stanfords and the Clive Packham Memorial Fund
Stanfords Campsite was where Don was at his happiest. He was the official warden there for a number of years and saw countless young people thrive in the energy the place can offer. The money raised will ensure young people will continue to benefit from all that the place can offer.
The second charity is the Clive Packham Memorial Fund. It offers grants to young people in West Sussex about to embark on overseas expeditions that are seen as challenging. Named in memory of a former Venture Scout, Clive and I worked together on a number of projects over the years. Clive was killed in a climbing accident in 1986. Don loved watching and supporting young people who were about to undertake an international challenge - and so I thought they would also like some funds in his memory.
Thank you for supporting Don as well and Henry and I as we pound the streets of Brighton. I can promise you lots of blister photos will be shown
