I've raised £60000 to to combat food insecurity in North Lambeth

The People's Kitchen runs a community café and shop in North Lambeth, providing over 340 families with access to diverse, nutritious and affordable food supplies. We are a social enterprise founded on the core beliefs of food security for all, and food as a connective force.
We are currently raising £60,000 to help give food security to North Lambeth's vulnerable community during the COVID crisis. This funding is crucial to provide a continuous, accessible food supply for local communities over the next 12 months.
We've seen how the COVID-19 pandemic and three national lockdowns have amplified issues around food access and social isolation. Lack of access to nutritious food has a knock-on effect on all areas of life, creating barriers in areas such as education and development, which sets back the community as a whole.
The People's Kitchen has adapted to these challenging times, providing food security and community connection at a time when it is needed more than ever.
The People's Kitchen is not just about food security but also provides an indispensable community service. We are able to reach vulnerable members of our community who would otherwise slip through the net. Variety and choice are key principles, allowing people to reclaim their dignity by choosing how to spend their money on a variety of nutritious food.
The COVID crisis has been unbearably tough for many, but it has also been a catalyst for neighbours helping each other and for community involvement, as demonstrated by The People's Kitchen's army of dedicated volunteers. Help us to continue this positive impact, providing sustainable, dignified nourishment that is more than just a handout. We need support from the wider London community to continue working towards our vision of accessible food for all regardless of economic circumstance.
