Story

Hi everyone, Dan here from Boxd Off. As you may have seen over the last few months I have been visiting elderly & disabled residents in care homes and day centers and holding sit down boxing classes with them.

This has proven to be great fun for the residents and a brilliant form of exercise everyone can enjoy, so I’m really keen to do this on a more frequent basis. Seeing the residents getting involved and loving it has just given me more of a drive to make this happen.

Michael from Blood fitness has been kind enough to let me borrow old boxing gloves and weighted bean bags from from the gym for the residents to use and wear. Now as grateful and appreciative to Michael as we are for borrowing the gloves and equipment, they are spares from the gym and let’s just say have seen better days.

Step One - Funds raised will to go towards new gloves, pads, 1kg dumbbells and sanitisation equipment to ensure the health and safety of the residents as I think its important and my duty of care to provide clean sanitised equipment for them to use.

We are raising money for the equipment so I can keep my charges to a minimal fee to attend the home and deliver these sessions.

If we’re lucky enough to raise enough funds then we move onto step two.

Step Two - Funds raised/sponsporship will go towards transport kitted out with a drying rack, again this to ensure health and safety and to help us get out to as many homes and interact with as many residents as we can.

Any donations you can spare no matter how small would be greatly appreciated and will go along way to making this happen to support our community.
