I've raised £250 to help SLACC's Kendal People's Cafe and Waste into Wellbeing

The Birthwaite Bards are a senior poetry group based in Windermere. During lockdown they have had to move their in-person group to an online platform and in this time have written a collection of poems, which they are using to raise funds for Food Banks and community food projects.
Waste into Wellbeing - Kendal People's Cafe is a local South Lakes organisation run by SLACC that provides approximately 120 food bags a week to individuals and families who need some help with food. This is different to the support offered by Manna House (homeless persons) and the Food Bank (only those who are referred to them)
They also produce a meal twice a month specifically for frail older and isolated individuals referred through the NHS support services. This used to be a community lunch at the Parish Hall called “Lunch Bunch” but is now a delivered meal.
Read Birthwaite Bard's poetry book Quarantine - Safe and Unseen on their website and make a contribution here for a good cause.https://birthwaitebards.wixsite.com/
