Story
Right now West Africa is in the midst of the rainy season, which in short means severe rainfall, intense humidity, and some times extreme gale force winds, the kind of which I never experienced back in the UK. The results of such weather generally amounts to flooding, torn-off roofs, and for those who are not living in stable compounds; demolished houses.
A few nights ago we had a pretty tremendous storm, the aftermath of which you can see in the photos below where it has made a pretty serious impact on a local primary school in the area that I'm living. The damage all in all has reached up to five class rooms, for students aged 7 - 10, and the school kitchen. When school re-opens on September 19th; this is what they will come back to.
One teacher who is currently living on the site has told me that no matter the situation, the school will open as planned and they are going to manage with what they have. This is why I want to try and raise money to repair the damage made. I've yet to work out how much it will cost exactly.
I hold myself solely accountable for all money that is donated, and will see to it personally that it is channeled to the right places.
Like I said, I haven't made any promise that I do not know for certain I can keep. I am just making an attempt to do something for the community that I'm living in.
NOTE: Right now I have put a first step target of 500 GBP, this is a ROUGH estimate, as here in Africa there are not many businesses that deal with fixed prices. If I intend to buy all the materials myself almost all of it is going to involve bartering, which is why at this stage I cannot be exact.

Good luck Toby. The kids out there need help. I saw this school when I visited Shelleys in February. Great kids who ask for nothing.
