During October 2022, a team of rowers from the Bridport Gig Rowing Club began an ambitious challenge to virtually row 2,880,000 meters (2880 km) around Great Britain to raise sponsorship to replace one of their beautiful wooden Cornish Pilot Gigs. The team rowed for over 250 hours over 40 days to completed their challenge. With your support a staggering £3,800 has been raised! Well done everyone! 👏 A huge effort this week has brought us around Scotland and down into the North Sea off Newcastle. 60% complete now- and over £1500 raised- wow!! Like every challenge there are hurdles along the way, we have had tapering for races, illness and injuries and perhaps the biggest of all, cumulative tiredness. But none of these are going to stop us achieving our goal, they just make us stronger, even more determined!!! Huge shout out for Motty this week who rowed his heart out and sponsored fellow rowers!
