We have made this urgent appeal to raise money to provide children in Bexley Borough with meals over the Autumn half term
Thank you all for your donations. We have been overwhelmed by your generosity. We are working to put these funds into use.
The conservative government has voted not to feed needy children in the school holidays. London has 32 boroughs and only a few are choosing not to feed their vulnerable children. Sadly, that includes the London Borough of Bexley.
Bexley's Labour Party supporters wholeheartedly disagree with this. Across the country decent councils and groups are seeking to plug the gap left by the government.
If Bexley Council refuses to feed its residents children in desperate times, then together we will.
Covid-19 has left many in Bexley without a job and struggling to provide food for their children. We believe that no child should go hungry during the holiday period due to circumstances completely out of their family’s control. That is why we are making this appeal to Bexley residents to raise funds for food vouchers to be distributed for children in vulnerable families.
The Government at present pays £2.30 per free school meal, so we’re asking people to donate £5 to help feed a child for two days or £12.50 for a week.
Please donate to feed a hungry schoolchild.

4 years ago(2/2) We received a number of messages of thanks from parents and your kind support really helped to fill a gap that had been left by the national government and Bexley Council. Unfortunately, child poverty is an ongoing problem that our campaign cannot eradicate, so we encourage you to engage with your local and national representatives to do something about it and to support your local foodbanks.
