Story

I’m running 100 km over February to raise money to fund a trip to Tanzania this July, with Bishop Luffa School and the Grassroots Charity.

If you can, I would appreciate any sponsorship you could give to enable me to go. Any money raised in excess of the costs of the trip, will be donated to Grassroots for their work in Tanzania.

Working with Grassroots, and 23 other selected pupils and staff from Bishop Luffa, I will be helping in the feeding programme, supporting the village school and visiting the hospital, providing families with chickens which is a massive benefit to their lives and assisting in the development of facilities for the community of Mbeya, Tanzania. I will also meet the children, Eva and Masha, my family and I sponsor.

Grassroots describe the experience as, "Rekindling hope for Tanzanian children through sponsoring education, nutrition, health care and vibrant, loving local church life".

Grassroots is a Registered and Christian charity that exists to relieve poverty wherever they can with international child sponsorship programmes in India, Kenya, Romania and Tanzania- providing food, education, medical care and accommodation. Additionally, Grassroots supports a drop in centre in Tenerife, a project for imprisoned women in Peru and a rural project in Malawi.
