I've raised £5000 to Bertie's Funeral Costs and Repatriation

*UPDATE: We are absolutely overwhelmed with the response and speed of hitting target. We will continue to raise money and promise it will go somewhere special. I will keep you updated. Thank you all; family, friends, colleagues, kind strangers and people who donated on my behalf, Oobah Butler's and Ben Nelson's. Just incredible. xxx
Bertie was 36 and died a few days ago from a pulmonary embolism and complications of coronavirus. It was sudden and traumatic for all who loved him. He was from a Hungarian town named Szolnok, and we would like to raise this money to cover his funeral costs and get him home to his parents respectfully.
ABOUT BERTIE:
An incredibly silly, charming and gregarious soul with a big heart and a complex mind. He was ambitious and intelligent, striving to be a successful entrepreneur. He spoke beautiful English (better than most English) and loved to play scrabble at least once a week. He was as close to a professional foosball player as you could get, and the British Foosball League have expressed the loss of Bertie as profound. So much so that they are having a memorial painting done and have already raised money to donate to this cause. It's difficult to express or put into brief words how many people loved this man, and the impact his bizarre character and generosity had to all close. He was also a hell of a lot of fun. I spent time with the family in Hungary and I want to say to them, you couldn't have raised a finer boy and he couldn't have absorbed better qualities from such charming souls. Bertie was just about to start a juicing stall on Lower Marsh Market, he'd bought all the equipment and was just waiting for the weather to turn. He even did a photo shoot and got investment. A sweet ending to this is that his cousin is going to inherit the business and continue his juicy legacy.
WHERE IS THE MONEY GOING?
This cost is to cover the funeral directors, the cremation, flowers, an urn and the repatriation of his ashes back to Szolnok. Bertie was an only child, and his parents will use his ashes to plant a tree. Part of his ashes will stay in London and we are doing the same thing here, as this was his home for 13 years.
SINCERE THANKS AND LOVE TO EVERYONE. X
