Help save the Parade
The revamped Altrincham and District Festival is in danger of losing its Grand Parade. The Grand parade has been the Festival’s showcase event for 40 years, sweeping through the streets of Trafford with a colourful train of floats, costumes and live music. Generations have been in the parade, supported the parade and watched the parade. The bands are booked floats are being made we have all the plans in place.
Due to the changes in grant funding criteria we have not secured the anticipated funds required to put the showcase parade on, we have tried desperately to pursue other funding streams which has brought in some revenue, but sadly not enough.
It costs £20,000 to put on the festival and parade and we have a shortfall of £3,500. We are turning to the local community to help save the Parade. Please donate, we can do it.
When you go into work on Monday ask your employer to donate. If we lose the Parade this year it will be very difficult to resurrect it again next year as we have seen in other local communities. We desperately need your help now.
