Story

Dear All,

In July of this year I will be taking part in a charitable trip with my school, King Alfred's, to Namibia. King Alfred's, has been working with EHRA in partnership with primary schools in Namibia for the past fifteen years, refurbishing and constructing school buildings and playgrounds. In order to take part in this expedition I am aiming to raise £2400, part of which will cover my travel expenses and the majority of which will be donated to the school.

EHRA is a Namibian registered non - profit organisation that strives to promote a mutually beneficial relationship between Humans and Elephants in the Namib Desert. The Primary school where I will be volunteering is the largest school in the area and is an important place to educate the young about the Human - Elephant conflict and the solutions.

During the two weeks I will spend in Namibia, I will be helping to refurbish the school buildings, carrying out general maintenance and running arts and drama activities for the children.

To raise the money I am planning a sponsored trek of 44 miles (71 kilometres) which I will be walking with my dad. We will walk the Lake District 3000’s, which will take us the distance between and over Skiddaw, Scafell Pike, its neighbour Scafell, and Helvellyn. The total ascent/descent is 7,579 feet/2279 metres.

I would be so grateful to you for sponsoring me to complete this trek and helping me to raise the money for this trip. I think this is an important cause and I feel very lucky to have the opportunity to be involved in helping this community. Should I raise anything above this amount, any extra funds will be put towards purchasing supplies needed by the school.

With thanks and love

Béla
