Like many zoo's across the country, last year was the most difficult year we have ever had to face. As 2021 is now upon us we are still finding things incredibly challenging and the not knowing of when we are going to be able to open and what capacity we can open at as the year progresses we continue to find ourselves in a very worrying situation. We are not eligible for the zoo funding and now we have just found out that despite having insurance for disruption to business our insurance company has managed to wriggle out of paying.

BUT instead of sitting here and worrying about it all we have decided to put one foot in front of the other, literally and start fundraising!

The team at the farm will be walking the miles, from Bedford to Peru (virtually), to celebrate Tye's (our Alpaca) 2nd birthday we're letting him visit his homeland! Each member of the team will be individually walking the miles each day to build up to the grand total of a whopping 13,737 miles!

Starting from February 1st, we're taking the virtually long scenic route to pick up as many miles as possible, Bedford - Germany - Spain - North Africa - South Africa - Brazil - Peru and ending on June 6th, Tye’s 2nd Birthday.

We will be posting many updates along the way, stopping off virtually in the different countries to let you know how we are getting on, there will be video updates including some of our much loved animals and birds from the farm, so please follow us through our social media pages.

We are asking you to to sponsor us, your sponsorship money will encourage us to keep going and all the money raised will go towards the care of our animals and birds of prey at Herrings Green Farm.
