Oscar was stillborn on 14th June 2018. I promised him that night, that he would never be forgotten.
As I navigate my life after loss, continuing to be a mummy to my living children, my dream is to create a legacy for Oscar. With amazing support from our author and illustrator, I have released a book called 'Oscar's Storytime' - a bereavement book for families with young children who suffer the most heart breaking pain of losing a baby, and not only have their own grief to battle, but also that of their living children.
Our aim is to gift this much needed resource to every single hospital trust in the UK.
The book is non profit. We do not want to sell it, we want to gift it to maternity units in Oscar's memory, as we know first hand how devastating this struggle is.
Mummy and Daddy were coming home with a new baby brother or sister, but left the hospital with broken hearts 💔 With the help of Oscar's Storytime, they can comfort their children while they struggle themselves to navigate life after loss.
I hope this book will show that, however scary and heart breaking life feels right now, they are not alone.
