    Story

    Personal Summary

For the past few years, I have been pursuing a career in rap music by producing and releasing original tracks on both Spotify and YouTube under the name of Bayo. Using my skills and talents in lyrical storytelling, I have been able to reach hundreds of thousands of people all over the world helping them to feel supported in their times of need. Therefore, after now amassing over 2,753,093 Views and 32,600 Subscribers, I’m ready to take my music to the next level by developing each track into a professional music video that further supports the messages and themes that I’m trying to get across to audiences.

Alongside my Music Pursuits and Youtube Channel, I own and run a professional barber shop, called Brotherhood Barbers, in my hometown of Leek. This give me the stability that I need to support my family and help them have the best life possible. It also means that I can meet hundreds and even thousands of different people each year, hearing their stories and connecting with them on a deeper level. This helps me to really target my music in an empathetic way, that really tells the stories that people need to hear.

I have achieved a lot of great things and have always given back to those around me, but I have also faced a significant amount of challenges in the pursuit of my dreams despite aiming for something positive. I have been the subject of extreme adversity, ridicule and push back from others but I haven’t let this stop me and have continued through the challenges to achieve my goals. So, I know exactly what it feels like to be alone, under pressure, not knowing where to turn, not feeling good enough and wanting to drop everything. I want to take these experiences and turn them into positive pursuits that can help and benefit others in a profound way, all over the world.

    Project Overview

On the 20th September 2020, I released my full EP Album called ‘Demons’, on both Spotify and YouTube, which included 4 original tracks that all deal with Mental Health:

    1. By Your Side

    2. Fly as a Bitch

    3. I’ll be There

    4. Send Help

Prior to the release of the EP, I pre-released one of the tracks, called ‘Send Help’, which was also developed into a professional music video. This music video helped portray the lyrics in a unique way and provided a visual representation of exactly what message I was trying to get across. The video was uploaded to my YouTube channel and received over 25,703 views and a tidal wave of positive feedback.

    Where will the funds go?

I want to develop professional music videos for the rest of my tracks on this EP Album so that I can continue to reach hundreds of thousands of people all around the world, spreading positive thinking and support with the lyrics that I have written.

Throughout the lockdown this year, in the UK and around the world, Mental Health cases have skyrocketed causing millions of people to go without support or guidance.

The following things have had a severe impact on the wellbeing of millions of people, in the UK alone:

    • Social Isolation

    • Job and Financial Losses

    • Housing Insecurity and quality

    • Working in a front-line service

    • Loss of coping mechanisms

    • Reduced access to mental health services

To combat this, we all need to work together to create a massive amount of positive action that will help these people in need. Therefore, by creating professional music videos they can be quickly shared via digital online platforms and broadcast all over the world for people to access.

It is quite a lengthy and costly process to create a professional music video, so to do this I need your help! If you can spare a small amount of change, on this donation page, then it will all go towards the project to help get the filming equipment, props, shooting time, locations and appropriate distribution resources.

The music videos will be shot, directed and produced by Tom Ratcliffe from Aeterno Media. Tom created the Send Help music video, spending a large amount of time shooting, editing, directing and helping to market the final product. Therefore, I want Tom to be on board with these next videos, to ensure they are getting the same consistent, high quality, professional approach.

The music videos will be shot in and around Staffordshire, showing key well known locations to further put the county on the map. These recognizable locations will help viewers in the area to feel connected to the videos as they a conducted with a more down-to-earth, relatable approach.

Feedback from the Send Help Music Video

Wow man, I'm actually speechless I've never come across a video that shows in such depth what pain is like, this also showed how my anxiety works incredibly, just seriously every single line was beautiful man, I actually don't know what to say! - DJ

This is absolutely breathtaking, gave me goosebumps, you deserve everything Luke, you put your heart and soul into everything you do, and it really shows, keep killing it bro! Xx - Shannon Dennis

Got goosebumps from the first line. Luke this is beautifully written, so much thought went into this, so proud of you my dude 💙- Shezc25

What a well thought out, much needed message. Those who suffer from depression/panic disorders/anxiety a lot of of us can relate to your words. Relate to the overwhelming /racing thought and feelings that hold us down and try and keep us down and silent. But for many us being silent can be deadly. Hold on seek help from a trusted person in your life or any group out there that exists in your country. People are ready and willing to listen, to extend a hand. Especially with this crazy year with stay at home mandates and the world shifting it's causing so much more pressure and stress. I appreciate you and your message. Keep on speaking your truths and it will resonate with others. It does with me. I've been in that position several times including very recently. I reached out and I got four older brothers showing up giving me the best advice and suppourt and getting me the help I needed. - Strawberry ShortKate

Bro u inspire I'm going through very hard times and no one is here with me i feel every single word every single word very relatable bro very relatable same suicidal thoughts very time same problem same shit every tym bro thanks for this song I'll try my best I'll like I'll share with my friends thanks man god bless you , you have bright future ❤️❤️ - Sparsh Saxena

    Other ways you can help

Some people just can't contribute financially and that is absolutely no problem at all.

If you find yourself interested in this project but can’t offer any financial support, then there are numerous ways that you can still help. For example:

    1. Share this project via social media. Get the word out. The JustGiving share tools are a powerful way of sharing with the world.

    2. Offer production skills such as VFX / Animation, Poster Creation (Marketing), Set Design etc

    3. Tell your friends and family about the project and see if they can help.

However, if you decide to help, just know that I will be extremely grateful and will forever remember your support, as will the people who the videos and music can help.

If you got this far, then thank you for taking the time to read about my project! I’ll see you at the online premier !
