Bathgate Procession and John Newland Festival is an annual celebration which is known and highly-regarded throughout central Scotland. Local people and those not so local eagerly anticipate the event, which takes place every year on the first Saturday of June.

Did you know it can cost up to £50,000 to put on the Procession?
We are one of West Lothian's biggest events and the costs can mount up.
We pay all all our bands, and this cost can include transportation and feeding, so it can add up quickly.

We pride ourselves on having quality entertainment in the Meadow park after the procession, we have such acts like Titan the Robot and the
White Helmet Motorcycle Display Team perform in the main arena, while our music marquee showcases some of the best acts in the country covering popular music.
There are many, many other costs that all add up and as we are proud of the Procession we are always fundraising to try and give everyone who comes along the best day possible.

We get great support from the council and the local businesses, many people in Bathgate give at our door to door collection, but like everyone, we do struggle to ensure we get enough money to pay for everything.
