We are raising funds to ensure the long term viability of our much loved Rugby Club here at Barton under Needwood. The club has previously seen a number of years of turmoil whereby our playing numbers decreased significantly.

However, two seasons ago we started to build something quite special and now have over 50 players in our senior section, circa 100 in our mini junior section and we recently launched a ladies section which has seen more than 20 players regularly train. In addition to this, we have continued to play in the Mids 4 West league punching well above our weight for a village rugby club and finished 3rd in the league for 2019/20 and were close to challenging for promotion. We also pride ourselves on developing players and giving them the opportunity to play for clubs 4-5 levels above ourselves and helping players returning from injury. We have also had great success in our mini junior section having won the Staffs cup on more than one occasion and having produced a number of premiership academy players.

The pandemic has hit us pretty hard and we now need to invest in our floodlights to enable midweek evening use for all sections of our club and to continue our exciting adventure for the future. Therefore, we would be grateful for any donations we can receive so we can keep shining a happy light at our club and in our community during what have been very challenging times.
