Story

The emerging situation at Barton House in Bristol has seen hundreds of people made homeless overnight. We know Bristol residents will want to help, so The Bristol Cable is doing a 24 hour crowdfunder for supplies.

**SEE ONGOING UPDATES AT BOTTOM OF PAGE**

So far, funds have been spent on:

• Water

• Food

• Baby supplies

• School uniforms

• Clothes

• Teatowels

• Hand sanitizer

• Cleaning products

**UPDATE 15 Nov**: Now that we have raised so much, and after hearing from residents about their needs and seeing the amount of water/food/kids packs that have already been donated, we're keeping the crowdfunder open for a while longer to see how much we can raise for residents' ongoing needs.

Originally the crowdfunder was set up to buy basic supplies such as food and water, but we've been told the money will be better spent on more specific items that are less likely to be donated by the public (e.g. baby bottle water heaters).

The Bristol Cable will continue to collect donations until we hear more from residents as to where the money will be best spent.

NB: At donation checkout, tipping Just Giving is optional. One donor let us know that on their phone it appeared to be required - it is not a requirement to donate. There should be an option to opt out of tipping if you'd like to.
