In Loving Memory of Barry Salmon

It is our honour and privilege to pay tribute to a very special man. A loving and caring husband, father, brother, grandfather and uncle. Many of you knew him as a colleague and musician, teacher, conductor and friend.

Barry spent 26 years at Woolverstone Hall School, just outside of Ipswich, where he speant most of the years as head of music. His teaching style and great musical knowledge left a marked impression on many of the pupils who remember him fondly.

Barry was active in the Incorporated Society of Musicians and became the national treasurer. He was always pleased to support a younger music teacher who was encountering difficulties.

He was also conductor for: the Community Light Orchestra (1991-2014), Suffolk Concert Band (1977-2004) and Gippeswyk Singers (1986-2009)

The last few years he had been caring for his wife, Julia Salmon, who has Alzheimer’s and Dementia. After a month in hospital he sadly lost his life on the 12th November 2022.

Any monies received will be split between the 2 named charities.
