I am running the 2022 Larne Half marathon in memory of my good friend, neighbour & fellow RNLI crew member - Norman Surplus. Norman was involved with Larne RNLI station since it’s beginning and held the position of Second Coxswain. It was a pleasure to volunteer alongside him and I learned a lot from him. He also holds multiple world records as the first person to circumnavigate the globe in his trusty gyrocopter “Roxy”. One of lifes true gentlemen - gone to soon.
