Iʼve raised £5,130 to help pay for Barney's medical treatment. Now, we need to raise £10,000 to get him home.

Story
Our brother, Ian, known as Barney, lives in Thailand. He's been on his own all through the pandemic. We thought he was doing okay - or so it seemed. On Saturday, 17th October, he jumped from a balcony 6 storeys high. He sent no messages and gave no indication that he was suffering so badly. He survived but has catastrophic injuries: a broken pelvis, two broken arms and shattered both legs. He has to have one foot amputated in order to save his life. Thailand has no NHS and he has no insurance. Any support you could offer towards his medical costs would be gratefully received. We need to get him home. The picture shows us in happier times in our youth.

4 years agoBarney is doing well in the new hospital, although he is not well enough to start physiotherapy yet. He is going to have to stay there for another two months at least. It costs £1,000 per month, plus extra money for food. We would love any support in covering these fees and the costs of getting Barney home.

4 years agoWe have some great news - Barney has been moved to a new hospital so that he can be closer to his friends and also make sure that he can start doing physiotherapy. All of your love and support has been crucial in getting Barney through this situation. I wish I could fully express how grateful we are.
