Story
For over 20 years Bantay Bata 163, a part of the ABS-CBN network, has been committed to the prevention of child abuse and exploitation in Philippines.
In 2014 we were honored to have been able to visit the Children's Village. An amazing place run by amazingly dedicated people. We met with the children who despite their various problems were very warm, friendly and welcoming.
This was a glimpse into a world many of us cannot imagine, Bantay Bata is literally a lifeline for these children. They save lives, but they cannot do it without support.
Our visit was very emotional especially when meeting the youngsters at the end, this is when it really hits home and almost breaks your heart. On leaving I guarantee there were not any dry eyes among our group! Although we do not work for ABS-CBN we believe passionately in this cause. Charities like this rely on donations from the public and corporate support from respected companies.
Some photo's from our last visit to the village HERE .
Our previous event webpage in support of these children can be found HERE , along with names of organisations that either kindly donated financially or by contributing to the prize draw held at the concert.
We have set a target for the fundraising simply because we have to, it would be incredible to reach it, phenomenal to surpass it. Every single penny we receive via Just giving will go to Bantay Bata.
They may be many miles away in another country but with your help we can bring a glimmer of sunshine into some childrens lives.
Someone has to care, let it be us.

5 years agoIt seems the current Pandemic has slowed the wheels of industry considerably with many companies running on a skeleton staff. This also applies to charities, please see below a copy of the offical receipt from head office. Please stay safe and hope to see you all again soon....

5 years agoThank you to everyone who contributed by donating money, raffle prizes and time. Under the current circumstances regarding Covid-19 it is unlikely we would be able to continue fundraising. Therefore we will be transferring the funds shortly via ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation Inc. - Sagip Kapamilya. Once again thank you everyone for all the hard work and effort put into raising the donation.

In 2014 about £2,000 was raised for Bantay Bata 163, and a similar amount for victims of Typhoon Haiyan. Although never truly forgotten we feel now is time to again think about the abused and disadvantaged children in Philippines. Please support in this venture, Please help.
