Story
Balfour MA Foodbank was set up in 2020 as a response to Covid-19.
After a number of moves and significant changes we now operate an on line ordering app which helps us to reduce what we need to store so that we can now accept donations of surplus chilled and frozen food.
St John the Evangelist Church generously allows us a rent free weekly session at the beautiful Knoyle Hall to run a drop in for members of our community to collect their food parcels and a lucky dip for anyone to select good quality surplus fresh produce. We also run a referrals only delivery service to housebound, vulnerable people who are unable to access their local food bank.
This page is to make it easier for vistors and others to donate as they can or feel to enable us to boost supplies with ingredients and recipe kits to turn surplus into healthy meal options.

About the fundraiser
Kim Shamash
Brighton & Hove
Kim is an NHS professional who chose not to come out of retirement at the start of the pandemic but to focus on mutual aid work. This evolved into food support and the continuation of the foodbank now known as the Balfour Mutual Aid Foodbank.
