I responded to a news feature on BBC by contacting the hospital in Baghdad. There were children three to a bed and with very little medical support apart from an outstanding medical team working in the most difficult of circumstances.
Supplies of the most basic drugs are becoming very hard to source. There are flights in to Baghdad Airport and we can guarantee safe delivery and receive confirmation and feedback from the medical team. The senior medics would like to send trainees to Cairo for specialist training and we would also like to provide financial support. I have on file a series of messages from the hospital which highlight the importance of the Appeal: Example

"Dear John, We are at zero point. We urgently need the next consignment. I have spoken to Roua in our Ministry of Health. We can speed up the formalities to make it easier for you to get supplies to us... Jaffar"
"Dear John. Happy New Year for all of you. I wish God and all good people protect you all your days, happy and safe from terrorists and terrorism. Please pray for my country. Best Regards, Jaffar"
"Dear John and Margaret, We are so grateful for the successful delivery of the consignment. All the refrigerated items and the microscopes arrived in excellent order. We send you our deep thanks and prayers."
"Dear John and Margaret, We are intending to start treatment with brain tumours. We have no experience with this kind of condition. So many new types of illness as a result of the war. We hope to send two trainees a year to Cairo. Can you ask your good people to provide funds for staff training? Our deep thanks, as always. Your dear friend Jaffar."
