Story
Baby Marnie was born on the 10th May 2016 at the Evelina Children's Hospital in London. Straight away, the beautiful baby girl needed medical intervention and support to help her heart, and she was quickly diagnosed as having Noonan's Syndrome and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
Effectively, Marnie's heart has to work extra hard to do even the simplest of things, even feeding. She struggled to gain weight, a term known as 'failure to thrive ' and soon had to be fed through a tube. Then, aged just 14 weeks, Marnie was blue-lighted from Hastings hospital, near her home in Eastbourne, back to the Evelina Hospital, where it was confirmed, a new heart is much needed.
This fundraising page is to help raise funds to support Marnie, her parents Nick and Amy and older brother through this difficult time. Both mum and dad take it in turns to remain at Marnie's bedside at the London hospital. Meanwhile, the other parent returns to the accommodation to look after Marnie's older brother, Jonah, who only recently joined the family in London after having been looked after by relatives back home in Eastbourne. Mum, Amy, says that being a family again and having Jonah with them gives them strength.
If we can ease some of the financial strain that this wonderful family faces, we'd be making the world a better place one pound at a time.

8 years agoWe are devastated to say that beautiful Marnie has lost her battle. She passed away on Wednesday 26th October at 10pm with her mum and dad at her side. The date also marks 2 months to the day that she was placed on the heart transplant list and was the same day that her petition was published online. Please keep her family in your thoughts and keep sharing the petition: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/170316

8 years agoToday is a good day! The petition, which calls for a change in the organ donation law, went over the minimum 10k signatures which are required to trigger a response from parliament. Thanks to comedian Karl Pilkington & hundreds of others for sharing and signing! On top of this, Marnie continues to hold her own, fighting strong. Furthermore, the quiz night & raffle draw which was held on Friday 30th September raised an amazing £1567.92! Everyone has been so generous donating whatever they can. Big & small...it all helps. THANK YOU!
