What are we doing and why?
We're running a sponsored 12-hour podcastathon on Friday 28th January 2021 to help raise funds to take Bold as Brass Podcast to Denton, Texas, where we have been invited to take part in, and record at, the International Women's Brass Conference 2022.
The podcastathon will see a different panel of guests taking, and dissecting, a new topic each hour which will be released live on the day (Friday 28th January) and later to both our YouTube channel and main podcast channels.
What do we need to raise?
Flights, accommodation, and (likely) Covid tests cause our trip to be in excess of £800 and so we are trying to raise at least half of the money to help us travel there to participate.
About the podcast:
Bold as Brass podcast has been running since April 2020. The aim is to create an informative and interesting brass resource for brass players of all levels and with interests in all genres with weekly episodes. Bold as Brass Podcast is a one-woman operation. We have no funding and our Patreon community help us cover our monthly costs (editing and hosting software).
Travelling to, and participating in, the International Women's Brass Conference is a great, one-time, opportunity for us and we're so honoured to have been invited there. Any help you can give is very appreciated.

3 years agoWe've done it! We've reached, and surpassed, our target! The target amount was set to roughly 50% of our trip costs (which will include flights, housing, per deum, etc.) and this amount essentially means we can now book our flight. We're going to leave the page open and any further money we can raise toward this trip will be gratefully received and reduce the personal cost to me and in return I will try and bring home a whole bunch of new episodes with me for you all. Huge, huge thanks! Melissa x

Our podcast-a-thon has come together beautifully and we're so happy to be sharing our panels on our social media pages. We'd love to take topics and questions from our listeners, followers, and donators so feel free to submit to us on our socials or via the website. 9 live hours and 3 pre-recorded hours will be available on Friday 28th January and we're so excited to share these with you!
