Ashok was under the care of Drake Ward and the Haematology Unit at Northwick Park Hospital since his diagnosis of Myelodysplastic Syndrome in October 2019, which later progressed to Acute Myeloid Leukaemia.

Ashok spent a number of months in Drake Ward as an in-patient and had multiple trips to the Haematology Unit as an out-patient.

The diligence, dedication and compassion of the doctors and nurses helped Ashok battle through his illness and the gruelling treatment. His radiant smile and jovial spirit shone throughout and won over the doctors and nurses who would often make a point of checking in on him even if they were not allocated to look after him that day.

Funds raised will go to the Drake Ward and Haematology Unit Trust Fund to be used by them as they see fit to provide additional comfort for patients and their families which cannot be accommodated within NHS budgets.
