I've raised £3000 to donate - and to say thanks - to the dialysis unit and ward 301 at Queen Elizabeth Hospital following a successful family kidney transplant

Hiya!
I'm running my first - and probably last! - marathon in April to raise money and to give back to the brilliant staff, nurses, doctors, surgeons and the aftercare team at the dialysis unit and ward 301 at the QE Hospital in Birmingham.
Last September, Mom being Mom stepped up and gave my brother one of her kidneys. Despite being in his late 20s, Harvey's dream life out in Oz was cut short due to kidney failure and, for over two years, it meant his life was limited.
The op knocked Mom for six but, for Harv, he felt brand new. The transplant went to plan and both are now back to their best, with Harv winding Mom up even more now!
To raise some money, I'll be running the Shakespeare Marathon in Stratford-upon-Avon on Sunday, April 27. I've only ever ran a couple of half marathons (13.1 miles) - so the thought of doing another half on top of that (26.2 miles or 42.1 km) is daunting!
I'm going to aim to finish - or probably crawl over the line - in a time of 3:59:59 so wish me luck. I'll be buzzing with a sub-4 hour marathon!
Thanks for reading and if you can chuck in a couple of quid for the QE, that'd be amazing!
Cheers :)
