Story

Prisons Week aims to encourage prayer and awareness of the needs of prisoners and their families, victims of offenders, prisons staff and all those who care, reflected in the Prisons Week Prayer offered throughout the week.

We currently have 130 active staff members, both civilian and uniform within La Moye Prison. Staff at La Moye will be completing a challenge of 1 kilometre for each member of staff by way of running or cycling.

Some staff will cover the 130 Kilometres (running or cycling) over the 5 days (Monday 10th Oct – Friday 14th) = 26k a day.

A relay on stationary bikes to cycle 130 kilometres on Friday 14th October will also take place in the Prison staff facility from 04:00 with the aim to finish by 06:00.

Once this is completed all staff taking part will meet outside of the Prison and will run 1 extra kilometre together in memory of the late Prison Officer Scott Barnes and Unit Manager Ian Clark.
