6-year-old Archie from Bilton in Harrogate suffers with Diamond Blackfan Anaemia (DBA), a genetic condition in which the bone marrow fails to produce red blood cells, and relies on regular blood transfusions just to stay alive.

Archie’s blood transfusions, which he must have every three weeks, can cause a build-up of iron in the body, meaning he must endure a needle inserted into his leg five nights each week to medicate him whilst he sleeps.

Archie’s mum Vicky started the ‘Archie’s Army’ campaign to fund expenses for his specialist medical care, but also to fundraise for other causes affecting Archie’s condition and treatment paths.
