Story
Apulstock is an independent community based, not for profit event run by volunteers as a music festival for People with Learning Disabilities.
Apulstock is an annual event which takes place in Chichester, West Sussex. Over the last 6 years it has grown steadily in popularity and now attracts guests from as far away as Hastings, Bournemouth, Kingston and Somerset. Although the festival is aimed at people with learning disabilities, anyone is welcome to attend.
In 2016, the Festival won the Observer Award for ‘Best Community Event’. For more information on this, please visit: www.chichester.co.uk/news/heroes-honoured-at-the-observer-community-awards-1-7730561
Apulstock is a highly inclusive festival and we actively encourage community groups and charities to get involved and work in partnership with us in whichever way they can.
The event features a wide variety of performances from professional and semi-professional musicians, people with learning disabilities and community groups. There are also a number of other attractions, such as Dr Who’s TARDIS, Classic Cars, Activity Stalls, Face Painting and more.
The festival also offers camping to some of its guests as part of the festival experience, an activity that can be difficult for people with disabilities to access under normal circumstances.
