Anxiety+Me is a support group set up for women who experience Extreme Anxiety. Something very close to my Heart as my Daughter Emily has Generalized Anxiety Disorder and has recently hit crisis point where she felt so incredibly alone and unable to cope. I felt totally helpless and wanted to do something to help her so though I would initiate a meeting in my back garden for other women with similar feelings, just to help her - and them - feel less alone. The response to my Facebook add was overwhelming so there was clearly a need for such a group.

I was also approached by several Therapists willing to help within the group. One of which was Samantha from Sams Therapy. Sam took on a leading role in finding room hire as it was soon clear my garden wasn't going to be big enough for all the women who messaged me.

We held our 1st meeting on Monday 7th April at East Grinstead Sports Club which was an overwhelming success where 12 woman attended. We chatted, cried, shared information and formed new friendships. It became clear this kind of meeting needed to continue.

I'm hoping to raise £1,500 for the Anxiety+Me Support Group to run for the rest of 2025. Money raised will just be used to pay for room hire and Therapist Support for meetings every other week. It's a non profit group and I will not be taking any money from it myself. All my involvement running the group and attending meetings is purely voluntary.

And this is me. My name is Tamzin. Mother to 3 amazing Humans and a cockerpoo and Grandmother to 3 more amazing Humans. A retired Nurse and Foster Carer. Now a Potter after being made redundant from Social Services just after Covid. I fill my time with looking after the grandchildren, walking the dog and making things out of Clay!
