I've raised £750 to help donate for the bearevment side in maternity ward at VHK

On the 1st of June 2018 myself, my partner and daughter where in hospital for my pre assessment to have a planned c-section to bring our beautiful boy into the world. My pregnancy wasn't worrying, I hadn't felt our boy move the night before but had went to sleep early so didn't think anything of it. I mentioned my concern as soon as we got to hospital and got the usual checks but had to get a scan as they were having trouble finding his heart beat. We were told the most heart breaking news ever, "sorry there isn't a heart beat". Our worlds came crashing down. That evening I went into labour, and at 03.21 on the 2nd of June our beautiful boy Geordie was born sleeping.
I got the best care I could of ever asked for. And forever grateful as the staff made such a dark time so bareable. And will never forget pur midwife we had through our journey. Working for the nhs myself in a completely different job, you don't quite realise how amazing the care you give until you get it given to you.
Fast forwarding a few weeks later, my good friend has talked me into doing tough mudder 5k in Edinburgh, and we would like to use this opportunity to raise funds for the bereavment side on the maternity unit at the VHK. Everything we got to make special memories with Geordie, the room we had, the care we got was amazing and would like to give a little back to them. So myself, Diane, Kerry and Danni will be doing tough mudder on the 25th of August 2018 (I know call us crazy).
We would be so grateful for any donation given.
