Iʼve raised £430 to raise funds for material & objects to be used in the making of fidget quilts for Alzheimer’s & Denentia residents at Balhousie care group

Story
I have been making fidget quilts for people who suffer from Alzheimer’s and Dementia, and I donate these to care homes. The residents love them.
I’ve been buying items from Facebook marketplace, to attach on too the quilts. I’ve been blown away by the generosity of the people I’ve bought items from. They have been selling them a bit cheaper, and most have been donating free.
If any of my Facebook friends have any smaller items of baby toys that would be suitable for me to attach to the quilts. I’d love if you could donate these to me so I can keep making the quilts. Also any suitable spare materials, thread , duvet covers, bed linen. The more I receive, the larger number of quilts I can make for the residents.
The care home that I’ve donated to have 15 care homes over Scotland. So as you can imagine I’ll be kept busy. It was lovely to see the photos of some of the residents interacting with the quilts.

4 years agoI make Fidget Quilts for people who suffer from Alzheimer’s and Dementia and I donate these to various care homes. Up till now I’ve donated 135 fidget quilts to Balhousie care homes. 15 to Angusfield care home. 11 to The Laurels care home. I’ve also made loads off bunting for two of the care homes. I thought it would be nice to do something for all the residents, so they’re outside space will be a wee bit cheerier for everyone. With the donations from just giving page and a very generous donation from a rotary club. It’s onwards and upwards.Xxx
